General Manager, Asia Luxury Skincare Cosmetics

My client is a niche luxury skincare brand based in the heart of London, and they need an experienced General Manager with a proven track record and experience of managing Asia businesses (China, APAC) at regional level to join the team with a luxury skincare or beauty background.

This high-end, luxury skincare product is looking for a strategic minded, General Manager to develop their Asia business and to take the business from scale-up to a globally recognised skincare product. The company is well funded, a highly acclaimed product and already selling direct to the consumer and through major retail outlets across major cities globally. At the heart of what they do is sustainability, clean, ethical ingredients and real science. With high produce values, they also carry the same values in their company.

About the Role:

This is an exciting position that will enable you to build, plan and execute the overall strategy for the territory with the support of a team of passionate professionals

Working with and through your team, peers, and executives, you will:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the total brands ambition.
  • Take ownership of the entire P&L
  • Setting and achieving KPI’s for territory performance
  • Take ownership of brand in Asia
  • Being an active champion for our own brands through our websites.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic brand acquisition
  • Build and maintain relationships with key brand partners
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiencies and speed of processes
  • Build and develop an effective management team
  • Building for the future – 3 year strategic plan to position the brand ahead of competitors.

Requirements

  • Previously held a senior management position with a focus on the Chinese market
  • Native mandarin language requirement
  • Deep and demonstrable experience developing and driving revenue growth strategies and results
  • Knowledge of the market levers in region
  • Cosmetics and beauty industry experience an advantage
  • Ability to lead a team to deliver a shared mission & results
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Ability to form good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Project management skills
  • Negotiation skill
  • Strong financial and analytical ability
